Sculptured Lighting

These sculptured lights are made from wood, aluminium & fabric & stand 6 feet high.

The beauty of these lights is there ability to change - in the day time, although large structures, they are quite minimal in their appearance, however, as the light fades the internal structure takes on a different form, as shadows are cast upon the fabric & the outside space.

The structure was influenced by the study of the human form; the influences upon it both physically & spiritually, and how these influences are reflected upon others.

Sculptured Light
Standing 6 foot tall, these are the most elegant sculptural lights. Inspired by the human form, these lights have a personality of their own as they lean gently, and change their quality as the light fades, allowing the light to cast shadows on the fabric & surrounding space. There are two types of lights - one with a corset, lace-up back, and one with a close back. Both hold inside them internal star-shaped vertebrae, and the close back light is decorated with external vertebrae made with the same techniques that I use to create my jewellery. Different coloured bulbs are available, and an outside version will shortly be for sale.

Internal Vertebrae
Each piece of this sculpture is made by hand...just to give you an idea of the precision that is required to create, here is an internal view, looking down through the work.

Red & White
The lights can be bought with different coloured lights which when dark are really dramatic. Nestling together, preferably in groups of three is really spectacular.

Turquoise & Purple
Two other colourways that I have tried....here you can see how dramatic they look in the dark, in particular how the internal vertebrae appear to fly upward.
