This is collection looks at the short space of time where each woman has wished to linger....where girlhood turns to womanhood.

 

It is a time of dreams; of tasting life, of experiences, spiritual emotional & physical...a very precious time, that is all to brief.

 

Where life begins to blossom.

 

Background:

 

These images began as black & white photographs which are then printed out on to paper.  I then use a combination of paints, pens & collage to manipulate the painting, which is then printed on to fabric.

 

Working in this way creates the most amazing depth of colour and effects within the painting, which can be further enhanced by the fabric I choose to work with - so far I have used cotton, canvas & velvet.
